FAQs What people ask us

Is web design still in demand in 2025?

Web design is still in demand as much as it ever has been but has now taken a change in direction to focus more on mobile and tablet layouts.

This shift has been happening for the last 8 years and is called responsive web design, which is the art of serving web pages to any device.

What is the average cost to hire a web designer?

The cost to hire a web designer in the UK can vary. You can expect to pay anywhere between £20 per hour and £100 per hour. This form of charging is used primarily by freelance designers.

Web design companies and agencies, on the other hand, often charge a per-project fee that can range from £500 to £4,000.

Charging this way is usually based on the complexity of the website, the number of pages, and if it is an e-commerce store, the number of products.

Always ring around to compare quotes before making your decision, but the rule of thumb is that cheap is not always better and can cost you more in the long run.

What is a pay monthly website?

Pay monthly websites are websites that you pay a monthly fee to access and use. Usually, the monthly payment is ongoing. The downside to this is that you will never actually own your website, and the overall cost of this service can be very expensive over time.

We offer this service, but unlike many others, we work on a 12-month subscription model that is more akin to a spread-the-cost option. After 12 months, your website is deemed paid for, and the subscription ends. This is far more economical for you and your business.

Can you upload content to my website if I don't have time?

Yes. During your first 12 months, we will do this for you free of charge. A fare usage policy does apply.

After 12 months, we will look at how long we worked on your website within that period and draw an average where we will then work out an affordable monthly retainer cost for you for ongoing work. Or we can bill you by the hour. The choice is always yours.

Google's new AI driven search results - What does it mean for me?

As of July 2025, Google's new AI-driven search is in full effect.

Google is now displaying its AI results on most search pages, located at the top of the SERPs (search engine results pages).
This is now dropping regular organic search results and Google Ads further down the page, and most often below the fold.

What this means for your website is that you can expect to see a drop-off in clicks if you currently hold a page one listing.

We recently conducted a poll and discovered that from March to the end of June 2025, there was a 58% drop-off in clicks from organic listings.

All is not lost, though. We also found that most of our clients were now being included in Google AI results. This is achievable through carefully written content and, as Google states, "write good quality content for your audience and not for search engines".
